In March, we announced an exciting #MyPromise challenge by providing our volunteers with EnV pedometers to track their steps during their shifts over 80 days between spring and summer. EnV were awarded as UK representatives for an international #MyPromise campaign which promotes the importance of staying active to improve overall wellbeing and boost grassroots activity in volunteering and sport. Why did I volunteer to volunteer?
I had retired from teaching in baby steps over 2 years and faced a future of days out, lunches and daytime TV. Then along came the news that Coventry was to be an Olympic venue in 2012 and would need - yes- volunteers. City Hosts support Harry Styles at the CBS Arena
Our City Host volunteers were on a 'watermelon sugar high' welcoming visitors to the Coventry Building Society Arena on the 22nd & 23rd May when the Grammy Award winner Harry Styles performed his Love on Tour show.
