Spotlight of a Volunteer

Pravallika joined the volunteer programme back in August 2024 and has attended various event/shifts since joining and has received her bronze badge.

As a Business Analytics student and Course Representative, Pravallika is very passionate about making a positive impact within the community. Volunteering as a City Host has allowed Pravallika to contribute to the welcoming atmosphere of Coventry while developing valuable skills in communication, teamwork, and leadership.

Volunteering at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas – February 2024!

I had the honour of volunteering at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas back in February 2024. I filled out the volunteering form in September 2023, never thinking I would be successful. I submitted the application and then head back later in the year that I was successful and secured a place to volunteer at the Super Bowl 2024. I have family in Las Vegas, and they were very excited when they heard the great news. I was able to stay with them and volunteer, which was great. Roy joined the volunteer programme back in March 2022 and has attended 156 shifts since joining. Roy has received his bronze, silver and gold badge and a special mention for going above and beyond on the Greeter shift.

EnV Youth Ambassadors

We have been delighted to work with Coventry College to re-establish our Youth Ambassador volunteer programme following the pandemic. We have trained and provided new branded uniform for over 40 Coventry College students providing them access to deliver over 300 volunteer hours so far across the city with involvement in a range of opportunities. Jaspreet Atwal, Coventry College Industry Placement Team Leader, explains here how the programme has been of benefit to their students:

I started on my City Host journey in May/June 2021. I saw the drive to recruit City Hosts and felt drawn to it, showcasing and helping our city at such an important and exciting time. I spoke often to family and friends about all the events and shifts I had completed. Explaining that as well as being welcomed by everyone on the team I felt I was giving something back, I had gained fulfilment, made new friends and had such a happy, lovely time on shifts.

A story of two sisters

I was very excited when Coventry became  City of Culture 2021 and wanted to be a part of it.  I have never been a volunteer before so was a little nervous as don’t know anyone but what didn’t matter as everyone is so friendly.  Love being part of the family in blue.
