Stepping into summer with EnV!

Stepping into summer with EnV!

In March, we announced an exciting #MyPromise challenge by providing our volunteers with EnV pedometers to track their steps during their shifts over 80 days between spring and summer.  EnV were awarded as UK representatives for an international #MyPromise campaign which promotes the importance of staying active to improve overall wellbeing and boost grassroots activity in volunteering and sport. We are thrilled to see so many of our volunteers getting involved and taking steps towards a healthier lifestyle while giving back to the community. The positive impact of volunteering is well-documented, and we are proud to share that 86% of our City Hosts reported an improvement in their wellbeing while contributing to their community. We hope to continue to encourage and support our volunteers to enhance their health and wellbeing while making a difference in the lives of others.

We are proud to say that our volunteers have recorded 2,148,917 steps which is the equivalent of from Coventry to Tartu, 1,175 miles!

David Boughey, Managing Director, EnV said

“We always knew that our volunteers were covering many miles while volunteering but to record over two million in just 80 days is amazing, they are quite literally continuing the movement of our volunteer legacy following the City of Culture year. We had joked about the possibility of reaching Estonia as I had been invited to Tartu to present on the benefits of volunteering as part of the #MyPromise campaign and Tartu is European Capital of Culture 2024. Our next aim might be to reach Tokyo with who we continue to link with following training their City Cast volunteers prior to the Tokyo Olympic Games!”

EnV are currently recruiting new volunteers who want to join us in making a difference in our communities. Volunteering has been shown to have numerous benefits, including improved overall health, mood, growing social connections, and enhancing employability. As a City Host, you will be the face of our community, providing a friendly and warm welcome to visitors at a variety of events throughout 2023 and beyond, including the upcoming Godiva Festival, Dippy Exhibition and British Transplant Games Donor Run.

Anyone who is 18 years of age or over can apply on-line today:

Our first pedometers were given to our Welcome Walk Hosts who bring the city centre in Coventry to life and then to our wider group of City Hosts who continue welcoming visitors and supporting residents across the city at key events and occasions.

If your group, business or organisation would like to book a Welcome Walk and receive a free pedometer then please email info@env.uk.com
